The purpose behind WDM-B’s solar system investment is twofold. Not only is it a way to advance the company’s long standing goal of becoming a carbon-neutral entity, but it also allows for the mitigation of the operation’s growing utility expenses. Designed and installed by Sustainable Energy Botswana (SEB), the system has is capable of returning around 80% of monthly power consumption.
We are proud to be the first diamond manufacturing company to implement a solar system in Botswana, and to set the benchmark for sustainable energy use within the diamond industry.
